The secretive and seldom-seen Waiheke Morris Dancers Collective made national news today when they announced their intention to perform a marathon morris dance from Cape Reinga to Bluff. Members of the public will be invited to sponsor the group as they pass through various New Zealand towns. "It works like this " said WMDC spokesman Victor Duck. "If you give us enough money we will go away. If not, we will hang around indefinitely drinking your beer and terrorising local waterfowl." Money raised from the marathon will go towards buying a restored Grumman Goose seaplane which will be used irresponsibly.•
