Why?

Because we have to. Because it’s good to act. It’s good to dress up in silly clothes, and yell and wave plastic swords around. It’s good to do live shows that give people a chance to get out once in a while rather than sitting at home watching TV or playing with their bloody X-Boxes. Because we give kids and teenagers and retired folks a chance to join in and learn how to play silly buggers, rather than moping about, painting their bedrooms black or setting fire to things*. Because live theatre is needed, even in this day and age.

But above all, we do it because Alan & The Cat Herder will hit us if we don’t turn up to rehearsal.

* Senior citizens are more delinquent than you might think. They just don’t get caught that often when they go tagging or holding wild booze parties on beaches. They just look all respectable and blame it on teenagers. What happens when the teenagers find out about this I really can’t imagine.
