But not this year. This year we would finally get through. This year we could come out of hiding, and show the world its salvation. A world where we could talk to each other across distances of more than 20 metres, and you didn't have to pay to hear your favourite acoustic folk band, you could simply hear record them and share their music with 20,000,000 of your friends. A world united by technology.

But sadly, we were sabotaged. Jeremy turned rat on us at the very last minute. He had been working for the Devos all along, feeding them information about our activities and plans. Just as we were about to present our magnum opus to the world, Devo centurions invaded the festival, arresting and killing anyone who aroused their suspicions. Jeremy vanished, and we thought he was under Devo protection, until another Sparker cell announced his execution and paraded his body to the Organic Devolution Headquarters. They were killed before they got within taunting distance of Organic House by Devo guards. The rest of us Sparkers went back underground.

Jeremy, what a lamer. How could I have not known? Bah, format him. He got what he deserved for hacking for the enemy. But he set us back at least a year.

Next year, maybe, we can show the world the truth.

Two years, maximum.
